Letters To Juliet-Film Review

A nice harmless romantic tale about a fact checker who travels to Italy with her fiance to take in the sights but goes on a whirlwind adventure because she found an old woman's (Redgrave) love letter to Juliet which is a place in Italy where young women can put a note on a wall and a group of women answer every letter to give advice to the women who wrote them. She soon joins the women giving the advice since her fiance is busy all the time making contacts for his new restaurant opening soon back in New York. Which doesn't make since to me at all because it's freakin' Amanda Seyfried! Who in their right mind leaves this girl to be on her own in romantic Italy?!! Anyways Seyfried (who may have the best eyes in the business) tags along with the older woman and her grandson (played by Chris Egan) who starts off being rather insensitive to his grandmother's actions but does support her nonetheless, however begrudgingly. It is there where we see the movie start to take shape. If you like these kind of movies you'll probably like this one as well. Amanda could play variations of this character the rest of her career but I would like to see more choices like Chloe. Maybe a Tarentino movie down the line perhaps? We shall see. She was in Alpha Dog earlier as well so she can do something besides romantic comedy (Jennifer's Body). An expressive face and a smile to match she does have a bright future ahead of her.
