Cry Of The Owl-Film Review

Robert (Paddy Considine) works for an aviation firm in the big city but lives in a nearby small town. It is near that small town where he drives along a country road, stops, puts his hood up to make it look like he's having car trouble and walks into the woods to a nearby farm house to watch Jenny (Julia Stiles). It makes him feel happy because Jenny looks happy we later learn. Also he is recovering from a major breakdown. He is going through a tough divorce with his soon to be ex Nickie (Caroline Chavernas in a psycho bitch role who loves playing with Robert's emotions). Of course sometimes things do not appear to be what they really are and this happens in this film. Good performances throughout this rather strange film (my second of the night!). Julia Stiles puts in a little different performance as the woman who represents salvation and the road to recovery for Robert. This is director Jamie Thraves first major film.
