A really nice little movie from a first time director doing a feature length film. Gary Lundgren did a great job with the story about a junior college student who continually tries out for the baseball team but comes up short. The reason? He's really not that good but man he has the biggest heart for baseball around. Will this year be any different? Maybe Coach Little (Steve Zahn) will have a change of heart this year. A great supporting cast around the lead character Calvin (played by I swear John Cusack's younger brother Alex Frost!). I really don't know if I've seen Steve Zahn act any better than this movie right here. To any doubters out there thinking the guy couldn't act (which is ridiculous by the way) this should shut 'em up. A truly great performance from the man. We see also a nice developing relationship between Calvin and Tori, the standout volleyball player with major college potential nicely played by Michelle Lombardo. Yes I know we've seen this little story before but do yourself a favor if you like baseball movies and Steve Zahn. Check this movie out. Very nice debut!
