A rather odd film that I don't really know what to think of it after seeing it. I can't say it's a comedy or a drama, sure there are comedic elements in it but just as much there are some serious underlining statements about a single boy who maybe likes his mother a little differently than most. 4 Stars for the performances of Reilly and Hill, especially Jonah Hill who is showing more and more of his range in offbeat films like this. He had a difficult job to make the character likeable and not too creepy. Marisa Tomei as Cyrus's mom turned in a great performance who is a single mom and still very much a woman who is a sexual being as well. John (Reilly) meets Molly (Tomei) at a party one night where his ex-wife (Catherine Keener) invites him. He is a lonely guy, one who never goes out anymore, who stays home but all is changed when he meets the beautiful Molly. This for me was the best thing in the movie, the acting and the chemistry between Reilly and Tomei. Totally believable, it's like we're spying on them as the relationship grows and John realizes what he's been missing for so long. I would recommend it to fans of either the main stars as they really do put in great performances all around. But to remind you it is an odd one
