Exam-Film Review

A cube like movie where there are 8 contestants vying for the same job at a ultra huge corporation. Each have a blank sheet of paper in front of them and are told what is the answer. With everyone wondering what's the question let alone the answer the fun begins. The contestants try to work together at first but then of course greed and power come into play so it's every man and woman for him/herself. This held my interest throughout the movie but basically these kinds of movies are one note films (even Cube, though I liked a lot the first time I saw it, can only take you so far before something becomes routine or repetitious). These survival of the fittest type films have been pretty prevalent since Cube came out (Saw 2, House of 9,). Once again with only one set (a modern sterile looking room) and such small amount of actors it is tough to sustain interest or suspense. But the filmmakers do an adequate job. First time director Stuart Hazeldine is at the helm here. A rather weak ending to an otherwise ok film. Worth a look.
